didn't know had today off til last week, suite
I've said it at the end of the last few seasons and I'll say it again. The Patriots need to bring in an actual GM. Belichick is a good cook, but he sucks at shopping for the groceries
congrats blue. you staying at EP's place for the SB?
"Belichick is a good cook, but he sucks at shopping for the groceries"I'm not a huge belichick guy, he sucked at Cleveland and then goes to NE and is awesome, but then it comes out that he was stealing signs for years, lately they've just been above average, but everyone thinks he is just the bees knees....in any case, having said that the pats had a shit load of injuries and random shit happen that even a good GM wouldn't have avoided.the worst signing was the amendola (sp?) signing. he is always fucking hurt, everyone knew that, but he signs him anyway. they needed to bring in a more reliable WR. or keep welker.other than that fuck up it seems like he did a pretty good job in the gm role. the talib signing worked well (aside from him getting hurt), they found some gems on D, he got more out of blount than anyone could have imagined.
not for nothing but it looks to me like he just slipped on the first down marker
belichick isn't that bad of a GM.I think he's a little overrated because they play in a division that has been so bad for the last decade. That allows them a 1st round bye, and then you only have to win one game to get to the AFC championship.but overall, you can't deny he's a good coach/GM. They've been competitive for 14 years or so now.
"not for nothing but it looks to me like he just slipped on the first down marker "it doesn't help the 49ers that the dude is moving towards him, but no way a guy without pads on puts a hit on a guy running full speed, and doesn't even move backwards a little.
and the player who falls never looks back.if some guy on the sidelines tripped or hit you and you went down you'd at least turn your head to look at them.
yeah, he hops right up and keeps going
"overall, you can't deny he's a good coach/GM. They've been competitive for 14 years or so now."Sure I can. They've had the same problems year in and year out. They lack a consistent pass rush. They can't cover tall receivers or tight ends. Yea, Talib has been good, but hurt a lot. Belichick has drafted a ton of wide receivers, corners and safeties and they've almost all been busts. McCourty was drafted to be a corner and kick returner and he sucks at both. The only position he has drafted well at is offensive line and tight end IMO.
Obviously they had big injuries thus year, so you gotta give then a little slack. But it is frustrating knowing that Brady's window is closing and seeing the same personnel issues every year.
troy brown ain't walking through that door
he's done a good job with D-tackles and linebackers
"They can't cover tall receivers or tight ends."league wide (except SEA I guess) issue.
"They lack a consistent pass rush"basically a league wide problem as well.
Belichick has been good with the pats for so long because he was cheating for most of the tenure, B the rest of the teams in his division suck and 3 he got lucky with the Brady pick.
"he's done a good job with D-tackles and linebackers"Mayo, but who else? Wilfork was drafted when Pioli was here. Spikes can run stuff, but can't do into coverage. Hightower doesn't play life a first rounder at all. And again, they get no consent pass rush. Chandler Jones is ok, but takes way too long to shed blocks
They should have kept Welker and offered more to Emmanuel Sanders so the Steelers couldn't have matched it. They also should have signed one of the available corners in the off-season
sportscenter did some thing on some bearded guy, they said he was good.
The whole season was basically smoke and mirrors outside of a few strong performances.
I know, I know. TMPT
PT is better than the deafening silence we usually get here.
"The whole season was basically smoke and mirrors outside of a few strong performances."that makes for a hell of a coach
Sportscenter is still a thing? I thought, like how MTV used to show music videos, they stopped showing highlights of anything but LeBron James..
"that makes for a hell of a coach"Which is exactly the point I've been trying to make. Good coach, average to below average GM.
AJA, has any team that had a coach/gm won the Superbowl™?
well sportscenter is now on espn news all the time
When you have one guy doing two full time jobs himself, isn't something gonna suffer?
Except for Meiz, of course. He can do the work of ten men and still do it better than it was ever done by anyone.
I hate working holidays. So slow and boring!
did Holmgren win as both?
Jimmy Johnson controlled players, I think.
"I knew if I tipped it high enough, someone would get there," Sherman said.Right."Everybody in the stadium was surprised," Sherman said. "You throw that? It's insane. I'm thankful they keep doing it. I should have picked it, but there was some offensive interference [on Crabtree] and I knew it wouldn't be called.Shut the fuck up, moron
Sherman is a top 3 talker in the NFL.
"I knew if I tipped it high enough, someone would get there," good thing it wasn't a 49er.
kaepernick is not a great QB, easily rattled
russel Wilson running around like he's fran tarkenton
Like he's white?
no, like he is really old
he ran backwards and all around crazy much like Tesus
"Truthfully, I could care less about watching the game, and that's pretty much how I feel," he said."so you do care, huh Tommy
I don't understand why most people get that wrong
My main concern today is cleaning my oven soonish.
I pent most of the day today changing all our door knobs
